Unfading candle: Mitzvah Association holds a memorial event “Holocaust victims online”
January 27 is the International Day of
memory of the victims of the Holocaust. EJP members are also invited to take part in the event.
This year the Mitzvah Association will hold a memorial event
Holocaust victims online. Joined by the management and
members of the community, the event will be attended by representatives of the UN, diplomats, religious leaders, the public.
As noted in the Mitzvah Association, the community is on a permanent
work on the basis of the memory of the victims of the Holocaust. So,
within the framework of the research project “History. Memory. People”
reports and scientific collections are being prepared on the topic of evacuation in Kazakhstan, Siberia and Central Asia during World War II. They are based not only on archival documents, but also on
memories of veterans saved by evacuation from massacre
fascists.
The materials collected during the project become the scientific basis
for further study of the Holocaust and evacuation, and
serve as an aid for teaching tolerance lessons among pupils and students.
The Jewish community of Kazakhstan invites everyone to
international online event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance.
It will take place on January 27, 2022 at 11.00 Brussels time.
