The Holocaust Memorial unveiled in Alexandroupolis, Greece

The members of the Jewish Communities of Greece, members of the Greek parliament, as well as the members of the local authorities gathered at the ceremony of unveiling the Holocaust Memorial in Alexandroupolis, Northern Greece.
In a moving atmosphere, on Sunday, March 3, 2019, in the courtyard of the Metropolitan Church of St. Nicholas, the unveiling of the Holocaust Memorial took place, dedicated to the members of the Jewish community of Alexandroupolis, who, in March 1943, were displaced to Nazi concentration camps where they were exterminated. The marble monument carries seven candles depicting Menora as a symbol of keeping alive the memory of the executed.
