EJP members gathered for General Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia on December 7-10, 2014

EJP representatives were asked to participate in the

Parliamentary hearings on the imperative of ‘a world without

genocide’ and once again the parallels with Jewish communal

thinking on this theme were evident.

This ‘portfolio’ of shared concerns coupled with the desire for

ongoing contact and engagement ensured that our talks with the

World Armenian Congress were both constructive and productive.

The joint statement and memorandum of understanding that

emerged from these talks provide a firm platform upon which a

mutually beneficial set of relationships between the two Diaspora

communities can be constructed. A robust follow up process was

agreed.

In the National Assembly of Armenia (the Parliament), in the joint-session of the Presidium of

the National Academy of Sciences in participation of the EJP delegation and the World

Armenian Congress as well as in the other meetings and discussions there was a warm, friendly

atmosphere, a sense of mutual trust and understanding.

High ranking Government officials and the President of Armenia himself, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan,

met with the EJP delegates. This is a testimony to the reputation of the EJP and her co-chairman

Mr. Vadim Rabinovich.
