Jeremy Newmark

An elected Borough Councillor in Hertsmere, Cllr Jeremy Newmark studied at Carmel College, Oxfordshire;

The Jerusalem Academy, Israel and City University, London. 

He is currently leader of the Opposition & Labour Group at Hertsmere Borough Council where he also sits on the Planning and Licensing Committees and Chairs the Hertsmere Developments Limited Shareholder Panel. 

Jeremy’s previous roles include Chair of the Jewish Labour Movement (Poale Zion), CEO of the Jewish Leadership Council and Spokesperson for former Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks. 

Jeremy was a founder of the European Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism and also a former director of the Planning Futures think-tank
