EJP Online Meeting “The Holocaust Remembrance Day”

“We Remember!” – that was the start of EJP online meeting dedicated to The Holocaust Remembrance Day.

This sad and tragic day will always be part of our history. The horrible events cant be forgotten or never spoken again. Through pain, personal losses this day should always be remembered and the lessons have to be learned.

At the beginning of EJP meeting a candle was lit and a minute of silence was commemorating the lost lives.

EJP members were speaking about personal losses, about the importance of education in order to never allow such a tragedy to happen again.

It is a great improvement that more and more countries commemorate this day, and not only Jewish people remember it, also other nations share the burden of the tragedy.

“For your benefit, learn from our tragedy. It is not a written law that the next victims must be Jews. It can also be other people. We saw it begin in Germany with Jews, but people from more than twenty other nations were also murdered.” — Shimon Samuels, MEJP France

“It is obvious that the war which Hitler and his accomplices waged was a war not only against Jewish men, women, and children, but also against Jewish religion, Jewish culture, Jewish tradition, therefore Jewish memory.” — Monika Krawczyk, MEJP Poland
